Reporting requirements
The charity’s financial year runs from 1st January to 31st December.
For each financial year we are required to submit an Annual Return to the Charity Commission within 10 months. In the Annual Return we answer questions about income, expenditure, activities, property, staffing, governance, safeguarding and risk. The Annual Return is used to update the information about the charity which is published on the Charity Commission’s website.
All registered charities are required to prepare a set of Accounts and a Trustees’ Annual Report for each financial year, and to make them available on request. As a small unincorporated trust, we are not normally required to publish them nor to submit them to the Charity Commission each year.
However, as a matter of openness and transparency, we do routinely publish our Annual Report & Accounts on our website (see below) – and a printed copy is provided to Tilehurst Library. Copies are also sent to those local authorities which have nominated a member of the charity’s Board of Trustees.
